It’s mostly known as "Japandering" - US celebrities endorsing products overseas while acting like they’re too good to do it for the domestic market. Some people seem to think it’s a horrible thing, but I don’t care. Besides, it’s not like "Prison Break" Wentworth Miller is advertising something totally unrelated to his fame here in this Israeli cable ad. He’s just advertising his cable-ready hotness.
