UPDATED: Super Bowl Drew Second Biggest TV Audience Ever

Nielsen has confirmed that Sunday’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants was the second most-watched TV show ever, with 97.5 million viewers, behind only the 106 million people who watched the "M*A*S*H" finale back in 1983. It was the most-watched Super Bowl ever by more than three million viewers, topping the 1996 Dallas-Pittsburgh tilt. As you can imagine, this comes as a mixed blessing to those of us who live in New England. Sigh.
