TV Squad has comedian Jay Black reviewing "Last Comic Standing," and he just can’t stand seeing his beloved comedy format chopped up into a game-show. He says things like "Ant. When is The Smoking Gun going to publish the deal he signed with the devil?"
Mostly, he seems angry that it’s not exactly like watching comics
and voting on them. He complains that the comics are judged not just on
their funniness but on hidden secret criteria like whether they will be
good for TV, although it’s pretty obvious that’s the case: the judges
often discuss things like whether contestants are too dirty for
broadcast TV.
In other words, he’s outraged by the entire genre of reality
television. That’s fine, but it’s no reason to single out LCS over
"Survivor" or "Big Brother." If you would rather watch a regular
