One of the dumbest sitcoms to get a second season lately returns to Fox with two episodes on Sunday night. But I’m torn, because when "The Loop" is smart it makes me laugh a lot.
Bret Harrison stars as Sam, a young single striver working for a perpetually troubled Chicago-based airline. In the first season, there was much ado about his wacky homelife, but that blessedly seems to have faded away, leaving behind only Eric Christian OIsen as his wacky stoner brother Sully. He should go too, along with the pinhead "friend" Sam keeps running into in the elevator. Scenes involving those two are aggressively stupid enough to make me reach for the OFF button.
