One of the most common search terms that brings people to this blog is "The Great Khali." While evidence suggests that many of our visitors know and love him, I thought I’d explain his popularity to those of you who have not yet been awed by his greatness.
Born Dalip Singh Rana in Punjab, India, Khali became a cop, a power-lifter and body-builder, winning the title of Mr. India two years running. He then worked as a pro wrestler in India and Japan before coming to the US and signing with WWE and becoming a favorite on things like "Smackdown"
Billed at 7′3" and 420 pounds, he’s enormous even if you allow for some exaggeration by the promoters. Both in physical mass and popularity, The Great Khali is one of the most popular professional wrestlers around.
