“Dollhouse” Doles Out Spoilers, Picks Up Fred

It was inevitable, given the amount of fan interest behind a Joss Whedon project, that every detail of of "Dollhouse" would be leaked, reported and poured over by restless Whedonites who are sick of watching "Once More With Feeling" on DVD over and over. I mean… I assume that’s what they’re doing. I certainly wouldn’t have any first hand knowledge.
Luckily for us, I mean you, E! Online has gotten some juicy details on what will be going on in the pilot episode — be assured, it’s spoilery — and the details look delicious. Without divulging too much for you spoiler avoiding types, I will say that it looks fantastic and dark. It also seems to have plenty of room for the trademark "tiny, slightly crazy girl who can totally kick your ass" character.
Also in the win column, the stunningly gorgeous Amy Acker AKA Fred from "Angel" will be joining the […]

Good Morning, Good Morning

More on CW’s decision to stop streaming "Gossip Girl" comes in this post and this one. The latter suggests it’s all a ploy to whip up interest in the under-watched show. OMFG, really?! (TV By The Numbers)

Maybe it wasn’t gary Dourdan’s idea to leave "CSI" after all. (TV Guide)
Leelee Sobieski: Obviously A Robot. (Glitterati)
I’ve been trying to decide which Robin Sparkles/"HIMYM" post to link to. Let’s try this one. (BuzzSugar)
Some new deets on Joss Whedon’s "Dollhouse." (TV Squad)
Spoilery "Lost" speculation: Could Sawyer be on his way out? (Buddy TV)
Addison’s returning (temporarily) to Seattle Grace and "Grey’s Anatomy." Yawwwwwwn. (Buddy TV)

Moore Develops Show For Fox; Fans Hold Breath

It looks like "Battlestar Galactica’s" Ron Moore (right) is jumping on board the FoxWagon. Moore is reportedly developing a series called "Virtuality," and can I be the first to lodge a "that’s a stupid name" complaint? It’s about a dozen deep space astronauts who are stuck in space for ten years and turn to virtual reality to keep themselves entertained. So basically it’s "Star Trek: Holodecks Gone Wild."
They’ve got a word for scifi shows on Fox that aren’t "The X-Files," and it’s not a nice one. No fan hears the words scifi and Fox in the same sentence without starting to twitch and mumble about "Firefly" under their breath. It looks like this fall Fox is turning its attention to scifi in a big way, so we can look forward to at least a couple of brilliant shows that we pick up the "complete series box set" for a couple […]

Jack And Spike Snog On “Torchwood,” OMG!

BBC scifi sensation "Torchwood" brings a few unique qualities to the table, but undeniably one of its best is the smokin’ hotness of John Barrowman as the bisexual (and slutty!) Captain Jack Harkness. To up the hotness quotient, "Torchwood" will be visited in season two by former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" hottie, James Marsters.
As if that wasn’t fan service enough, The Sun has pictures of John and James sharing a nice, steamy kiss. If you listen closely, you can hear millions of gay fans (and teenage girl fans) squealing in joy. Expect to find the internet flooded with roughly a bajillion pieces of fan fic on the new Jack/Spike pairing. Points go to the BBC for having an openly bisexual male character (unheard of on American TV), and blatantly exploiting it for a geeky ratings boost. We’re trying to figure out when you can count on seeing this awesomeness on […]

Writers Strike: Putting Lead In Their Pencils, Bonus For Boston

So the strike supporters got together their mountain of pencils and tried to deliver them to the moguls today. This, of course, is why the moguls have fences and gates and guards. (Well, one reason.)
But looking at the Flickr feed for the event, I discovered something awesome for me, personally, as a Bostonian,
which is that Joss Whedon is a Red Sox fan. As a big "Buffy" fan, I don’t understand how I don’t know this already. But it probably helps explain why Whedon is going to be in Boston for a strike rally this Friday.

Writers Strike: Grrr, Aaaargh

The most fun picket line this week will definitely be tomorrow at Fox, when fans of Joss Whedon’s "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel" and "Firefly" will join writers for Mutant Enemy Day, named in honor of Whedon’s old production company. Remember the beastie that lurched into the frame at the closing credits, going Grrr, aaargh!? God I miss that.
Anyhoo, day six of the restarted negotiations went ok, it appears, although the producers still haven’t come across with the second part of their new media proposal, and the writers gummed things up a little by insisting on talking about reality TV shows, a non-Guild sore point for years. No big news is good news I think at this point. They return to the table today.
In a less promising development, Alec Baldwin has some ideas on settling the strike. Run away, run away!!! Grrr, aarrrgh!

Spike Joins Good Guys Again on “Without A Trace”

James Marsters, a favorite of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fans for his role as the hot-but-evil-then-not-evil vampire Spike, has been cast in a recurring role on the CBS missing-persons drama "Without A Trace."
According to his official web site, his character, Detective Mars, will be "Attractive in a real way, a bright, full-of-life personality, charming, possibly from around the Washington DC area, so could have a slight southern accent. Mars is a Police Detective who has started to investigate what seems to be a ring of Human Trafficking.  He has information our FBI team is interested in and comes to New York to speak to Vivian about what he knows.  Eventually he will become part of a task force to deal with Human Trafficking.  GUEST STAR, RECURRING ROLE. " No air date yet.
