MeeVee Video Top 5: Clash of the Choirs, Celebrity Apprentice, and more

Can you say snubbed? In a tumultuous year for shows with the whole writer’s strike debacle, some shows are even further getting screwed.  This time in the awards category. The Golden Globe nominations are out and shows like The Sopranos, The Office, and Lost got the royal paddle to the behind. O well, life goes on.
Here is a random assortment of this week’s Video Top 5. Meet the sopranos in Patti LaBelle’s choir from "Clash of the Choirs." And unlike our Jersey gangsters, they’re only lethal with their voices.
With celebs like Jenny Finch, Gene Simmons, and Steven Baldwin, this season’s "Celebrity Apprentice" definitely should be interesting. Catch some upcoming drama on the Apprentice’s new season.
Guest soccer star David Beckham appears on this week’s "Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood." He’s gonna "Snoop it like Beckham."
Also check out clips from ABC Family’s "25 Days of Christmas."
Finally, we have more Happy Tree Friends. This […]

MeeVee Video Top 5: Deadly Shows - “Dexter,” “Cold Case,”, “CSI:Crime Scene Investigation,” and more

The battle will probably forever carry on as to whether video violence corrupts our fragile and delicate youth. Can our youth internalize the unimaginable horrors on TV and, in turn, reek the same havoc on society?  Regardless of the answer, one thing is for sure: TV is violent and TV violence is here to stay.  Even the nightly news is embedded with graphic and violent stories of murder and mayhem. True, it is a reflection of a portion of our society, but do we really need to hear about it every day?!
This week Video Top 5 is looking at five of the seemingly endless supply of death-bringing shows.  You can preview Showtime’s hit show Dexter.  Look at behind-the-scenes of Cold Case.  Surprisingly it’s not as graphic as one might think.  Catch bonus scenes and DVD extras from the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.  We have full episodes available of Pushing […]

MeeVee Video Top 5: Out There–It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tin Man, Hogan Knows Best, and more

You ever watch TV? You ever watch TV……..on weed?!?!  (thank you Half Baked).  Whether you’re the average toker, hardcore toker, or you’re glaucoma is acting up, Mary-Jane can make a good pairing with the fantastical world of television. The 30-min to 60-min block of time is apt for the stoner ’cause let’s face it: being stoned and watching a 3-hour movie can sometimes be a more painful experience than a pleasurable one. Sorry Peter Jackson, it’s just the truth.
Now that the "Weeds" season is over, this week Video Top 5 is looking at some "out there" shows.  The list can essentially be endless, but here’s a decent five to start.  Watch all the footage from Hogan Knows Best and the (sexy) Brooke Hogan videos. The Wizard of Oz remake, Tin Man, hits the Sci-Fi Channel.  We have full episodes of Pushing Daisies, exclusive previews of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, […]

MeeVee Video Top 5: Still Strikin’–Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?,Real Housewives, Deal or No Deal, and more

As the writers continue to strike, Video Top 5 will continue to feature "writer-less" shows.  First up we have clips from "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?"  See Tony Hawk and Kelly Pickler answer challenging questions like the location of Cuba and whether or not crocodiles eat meat.  Also, watch Megan unload on Kristen in "Real Housewives." Money not only buys these women a life of luxury but also a sense of entitlement.  We think the show should be called, "Golddiggers That You Want to Push Off a Cliff!"
The "Deal or No Deal" models are unquestionably hot.  But can they act?  See them as they reenact some of NBC’s hit shows.  We wonder if anyone told the models that these were just supposed to be spoofs.
Get to know more about your favorite cast members from "The Game" with exclusive interviews and catch bonus scenes from Episode 1 from […]

MeeVeeVideo Top 5: Adios Network Writers–Kid Nation, LA Ink, I Love New York 2, and more

As you all know, Hollywood’s writers are on strike.  For the avid television watcher this is probably more stressful than a MLB fan during a baseball lockout.  But just think of it this way people.  It’s like having summer in November (except for the fact that in most places T-shirts and shorts are out and you’ll freeze your ass off at the beach!).  Now you catch all your favorite reruns, just like in the summer.  Stay strong and remember, writers are a neurotic and finicky bunch. They need the money way more than the TV execs do meaning the writers will only strike for so long.
This week Video Top 5 is saying forget the writers!! We’ll just give praise to the shows where the hardworking, writing-less, reality shows create all the revenue. On Kid Nation, you can watch the little whiny bastards battle for the gold stars on the two-minute […]

MeeVee Video Top 5: Falling Stars–Dancing with the Stars, Carpoolers, Making Menudo, and more

The life of a celebrity fluctuates constantly.  One minute they’re on top of the world.  The next minute they’re overweight, dancing in front of millions of viewers while distracted by an ensuing custody battle.  If you need the security and consistency of a 9-5 job, then becoming a celebrity probably isn’t a good match for you. This week Video Top 5 looks at stars that have fallen (both literally and figuratively) off the map.
Jerry O’Connell has had some success over his career.  However, Carpoolers is nothing short of a head-on collision with failure.  Also, if you haven’t checked it out already, watch as Marie Osmond faints during the judges’ critique. Everyone’s biggest concern was making sure the show went to commercial break.
Menudo has only been an obscure trivia answer for the last couple decades, yet apparently America wants Menudo back.
Even though Back to You is still hanging […]

MeeVee Video Top 5: Weird - “Pushing Daisies,” “The Office,” Conan O’Brien, and more

There’s a lot of weird on TV these days so it was very difficult to choose only five shows. Why are we so fascinated with weirdness?  From contestants that eat bugs for a big cash prize to a bisexual MySpace fanatic searching for love; the list never ends. The true question posed is: What’s weirder? The shows themselves? Or us for watching them?
Video Top 5 looks at just a small sample of bizarre shows today. For starters, we have highlights and full episodes of Pushing Daisies.  And while The Office isn’t much of a strange concept, but characters like Dwight Schrute add a lot of flavor to the ‘normal’ paper company. And to one up that, we’re featuring last week’s episode of Jim and Pam’s visit to the Schrute Farm.
Conan O’Brien is a comic genius, but what also really rounds out Late Show are his zany characters that make […]
