February 13th, 2008 — Cane, CSI, ghost whisperer, Dexter, Cold Case, Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men, Moonlight, How I Met Your Mother, Shark, Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, Jericho
CBS today unveiled a no-frills list of premiere dates and episode counts for its shows returning after the strike. The plans are ambitious, especially for the comedies. "How I Met Your Mother," "Big Bang Theory" and "Two And A Half Men" (left) are all set to return on March 17, producing nine more episodes for the season. That’s going to call for a lot of extra Skittles in the writers’ room, I’d say. Another Monday show, "CSI Miami," is due back March 24 and expected to produce eight more hourlong episodes, which is, come to think of it, almost twice as much television as nine episodes of a sitcom.
Other shows’ return dates and episode counts: "Cold Case," March 30, five. "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY," April 2 and seven each. "CSI" and "Without A Trace," April 3 and six. "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs," April 4 and six. "NCIS," April 8 […]

September 14th, 2007 — Torchwood, Brothers & Sisters, Life Is Wild, Fall Shows '07, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives, Shark, Viva Laughlin
Saturday? We don’t need stinkin’ Saturday. Watch college football on ABC, or "Torchwood" on BBC America, and forget about "Cops" and the endless reruns on the other networks. Sunday, though, is as always another story, featuring the season’s most bizarre new show ("Viva Laughlin," right) and several returning favorites.
ABC’s trio of hits - "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters" - returns on Sept. 30. The big excitement here has to be Dana Delaney and Nathan Fillion joining the cast of "Desperate," a show that seems in definite though not desperate need of some fresh fuel. It will be interesting to watch the ratings here.
CBS will still have "60 Minutes" at 7 and "Cold Case" at 9, and it’s swapping in James Woods as "Shark" at 10. The show has curdled a little as Woods’ bracingly hard-edged character has gotten soft around the edges; we’ll see if […]

July 18th, 2007 — Shark, Press Tour
He’s a high-IQ, high-cynicism guy who’s always a lively interview, even when he’s pissed-off and scary. This morning at the "Shark" panel, he came to play, with executive producer Ian Biederman and co-star Jeri Ryan at his side. There are some changes ahead in the show. Ryan’s character, the district attorney, has lost her race for reelection, so she’ll be joining Woods’ team of prosecutors in trying cases. (Kevin Pollak joins the cast as the new DA.) Woods, who mentioned Ryan’s loveliness a number of times, appears to relish the possibility of a screen romance between them. He was funny, occasionally filthy and highly entertaining. He really does talk incredibly fast. He won’t be surprised that his more thoughtful but unfortunately essay-length answers won’t make the cut here. I’m just gonna quote the zingers.
Woods on how "Shark" doesn’t seem to get as much media attention as some shows with lower […]
