April 17th, 2008 — sex and the city
Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha on "Sex And The City," is Carrie Kipling (wife of Rudyard, mother of the titular Jack) in "My Boy Jack," airing on PBS this weekend. She tells press it’s a project she joined because she’s loved Kipling all her life.
Please. That girl couldn’t kipple if her life depended on it. She only wanted in for two reasons: First, Jack is played by "Harry Potter" star Dan Radcliffe. Second, it’s someone named Carrie, and you just know she’s always wanted to be Carrie and not that icky cougar Samantha.

April 7th, 2008 — sex and the city
And from behind, apparently. "Sex And The City" and star Sarah Jessica Parker are the presumbly unhappy models for a new sex doll timed for the movie’s May 30 release, as first reported by the New York Post. We’ll blur the attached image in case you’re reading at work or under the age of 18. But suffice to say that the doll is named Sarah Sessica Porkher and the phrase "And The City" has been rewritten to reflect a fondness for anal gratification. Who doesn’t love New York, huh?
See the original here if you must. Presumably there will be a followup tomorrow involving lawyers.

April 1st, 2008 — sex and the city
Just in time for the "Sex And The City" movie release, the early-eighties teen sitcom "Square Pegs," starring a very young Sarah Jessica Parker, has hit DVD.
According to ONTD, the critically-acclaimed show lasted just one season not because of poor ratings but because of inexperienced staff and a drugged-up cast.
Hey, it was the 80s: Big hair, silly sunglasses, and mountains of coke were par for the course.

February 22nd, 2008 — sex and the city
Spoilers ahoy! The latest “Sex And The City” trailer has all kinds of details: What kinds of trouble will Carrie and Big get into as they plan their wedding? Will Miranda keep waxing her pubes? Will there be shoe drama?
Well, obviously, there will be shoe drama, and real estate drama, and jokes about how the Cinderella story doesn’t always come true, along with plenty of fantasy about how while you’re waiting for your Prince Charming you can live a million-dollar lifestyle as a freelance writer.

The "Sex And The City" movie has completed filming and the trailer has now hit the wires. You can find it in HD over at movies.aol.com.
It doesn’t give a hell of a lot away about the plot, though.

November 29th, 2007 — sex and the city
Yes, I’m filing this in the "Sex And The City" category, because "Lipstick Jungle" is the same crap from the same writer as "SATC." They claim it’s all new because this time, the women "aren’t looking for Mr. Big - they are Mr. Big." But it’s not. If you can plagiarize yourself, Bushnell and her team are doing it. Maybe the women are a little less neurotic this time, but this is the same played-out fantasy of shoes, money, shoes, fancy cocktails, hot boys, shoes, and romance.
Seriously OMG seems pretty enthusiastic about the show, but it makes me think of nothing so much as this Onion article about TV marketing execs.

November 27th, 2007 — L-Word, sex and the city
Season 5 of "The L Word" begins January 6 with an episode about women’s Turkish oil wrestling. I’m not sure there’s all that much I can add to the fact that what was almost the gay "Sex And The City" now features scantily-clad women covered in oil, fighting and then making out. It’s fun for the whole family, assuming your family is composed entirely of adults with the emotional capacity of 13-year-old boys.
Speaking of “Sex And The City,” they’re already planning a sequel to the movie. I guess once you’ve decided to destroy your franchise with sequels, you might as well ride it right into the ground. Straight to DVD, here we come!

November 19th, 2007 — Buffy the Vampire Slayer, sex and the city
"Buffy The Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar (now Sarah Michelle Prinze) says she doesn’t want to do a "Buffy" movie for fear of screwing up the ending. I think the show, at six years, was already getting tired, and that a movie would have been a mistake. By now, even if everyone wanted to do it, it’s just a little too late. (Too late? Nonsense. Do what the CW is doing for "One Tree Hill" and jump forward a few years in time! No trouble at all!)
Sarah Michelle has also, in recent interviews, pointed out parallels between her much-beloved show and "Sex And The City." They both had a long run and a long hiatus filled with movie rumors. Now that the "Sex" movie is underway, she’s concerned that they’re going to screw it up. For her show, she says, she’d rather leave well-enough alone.
Of course, Crazy Days And […]

November 9th, 2007 — sex and the city
Kim Catrall, who plays Samantha on "Sex And The City," seems to be an awful lot like her character these days. Maybe she’s a method actress, really living the frank, aggressive, persona. And maybe she’s a frank, aggressive person. Either way, her public statements in the past few days have been fantastic.
First she admitted - admitted isn’t the right word. She baldly stated to interviewers that she was only doing the "Sex And The City" movie for the money. She said she felt done with her work on the show and didn’t really feel like doing more, but agreed to it because she wanted the cash for a new house. She knows where her bread is buttered, that’s for sure.
Now Catrall is talking about plastic surgery: She’s had some Botox, but won’t go under the knife because she’s perfectly happy being her age, and besides, plastic surgery makes people look […]

October 18th, 2007 — sex and the city
Why does it seem to me that of all the "Sex And The City" characters, Kristin Davis is the one who’s most like her real-life character. Sarah Jessica Parker might have weird fashion sense, and Kim Catrall might really be a sexually assertive woman of a certain age, and Cynthia Nixon might really be hard-working, but for some reason I think that Kristin Davis is exactly like Charlotte every day. Maybe she’s just been in character for so long that she forgot who she really was.
But look at that slightly-forced smile and casual, tennis-playing, milfy style. And this isn’t on-set filming for the new SATC movie, this is just Kristin Davis at a cancer benefit called "Viva La Cure."
Want on-set pictures? Via Faded Youth, here’s a shot of Miranda and her little boy. And Magda. Don’t forget Magda. You know Miranda would never survive without Magda. (I have a […]
