May 16th, 2008 — L-Word, CSI, House
"CSI" will replace Jorja Fox with former "L Word" actress Lauren Lee Smith (right). Canadian Smith had a recurring role as chef Lara on that series, which airs on CBS’ corporate cousin Showtime. She was also on the TV series "Intelligence" and several TV movies in the "Christy" series. (Buddy TV)
A scary and difficult-to-watch episode of HBO’s "Six Feet Under" was "That’s My Dog," which had Michael C. Hall’s David pick up a psycho hitchhiker named Jake, played by Michael Weston. Weston, who played Jake in three subsequent episodes as well, is now named as the actor who’ll play a private eye on some episode of "House" next season, as an audition for a possible spinoff. Kelly Preston, aka Mrs. John Travolta, has been tapped to play one of the gang leaders in the HBO pilot "Suburban Shootout." It’s based on an hilarious British series about suburban matrons gone […]

November 28th, 2007 — L-Word
As if women’s oil wrestling were not enough, a second "L Word" trailer reveals that season 5 will have a women’s prison theme. To raise the tone just a little bit, we’ll have a soldier investigated for being a lesbian, and a heartfelt condemnation of the "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy. But mostly, we’ll have hot lesbian wrestlers, hot lesbian prisoners, hot lesbian soldiers, and hot lesbian businesswomen.

November 27th, 2007 — L-Word, sex and the city
Season 5 of "The L Word" begins January 6 with an episode about women’s Turkish oil wrestling. I’m not sure there’s all that much I can add to the fact that what was almost the gay "Sex And The City" now features scantily-clad women covered in oil, fighting and then making out. It’s fun for the whole family, assuming your family is composed entirely of adults with the emotional capacity of 13-year-old boys.
Speaking of “Sex And The City,” they’re already planning a sequel to the movie. I guess once you’ve decided to destroy your franchise with sequels, you might as well ride it right into the ground. Straight to DVD, here we come!

October 10th, 2007 — L-Word, Battlestar Galactica
I know these two shows don’t have much in common except that they’re on cable, but Showtime has released a new promo for Season 5 of "The L-Word," at the same time that Sci-Fi released a promo of the final season of "Battlestar Galactica" as well.
Actually, you know what would be cool? If there really were something other than timing that these two shoes in common. Like, say, a crossover where one of the women on "L-Word" turns out to be a Cylon. A lesbian Cylon going undercover in LA, preparing for an invasion, building landing strips for gay Martians. How awesome would that be?
