March 31st, 2008 — Knight Rider
The remade "Knight Rider," featuring Justin Bruening as an heir to The Hoff and a Ford Mustang in place of a Pontiac Trans-Am, got what Variety describes as "solid ratings" when it aired a 2-hour special in February.
It also got solidly negative reviews, but that hasn’t stopped NBC from ordering a whole lot more of it. Talking cars: The wave of the future. For TV, anyway.

February 20th, 2008 — Knight Rider, Nip/Tuck, Amazing Race, Lost, American Idol
First of all, I hope you read last night’s hi-larious and right-on "American Idol" liveblog by our man Aaron. More entertaining than "Idol" itself, actually, and setting a high bar for me to clear tonight. But assuming you’ve done that, here’s some more fodder to consume with your java:
"Monk" with Tony Shalhoub (right) gets a seventh season, to bow this summer. (Hollywood Reporter)
The 18-49 demographic beloved by advertisers loved "Knight Rider." Sigh. (TV Decoder)
"The Amazing Race" and "Numb3rs" are among the pickups announced by CBS yesterday for the fall. (Buddy TV)
Finale "Nip/Sucked." (TV Guide)
Loving this season’s "Lost." (Tifaux)

Mocking the new cast of celebs on "Dancing With The Stars." A prediction from here: Don’t count out Penn Jillette. (GMMR)
Appreciating what makes "Jericho" different: "Think for a moment about how often you have heard the name Manolo Blahnik on television, and then consider the last time you heard a reference to Wrangler. A large part of the show’s appeal comes simply from its refusal to play games of coastal narcissism." (NY Times)

Expect "Knight Rider" to return, even though it sucks without Will Arnett as the car. (Hollywood Reporter)

February 18th, 2008 — Jimmy Kimmel, Knight Rider, Private Practice, Lost, The Office
Or is that President’s Day? Or maybe Presidents’ Day? And really, who cares. I’m not even on the clock. I just thought you’d want to read one or more of the following…
An update on the return of "The Office": "The first episode back will revolve around the Dunder Mifflin employees attending a dinner party. That script was finished and ready for shooting when the strike halted all production on the show Nov. 5." (Scranton Times Tribune.com)

February 8th, 2008 — Knight Rider
As "Knight Rider" returns, so do "Knight Rider" parodies, and complaints by purists that the Mustang just isn’t the right car to play the role of Kitt, and that they should use a Trans-Am again. The following video combines both:

February 7th, 2008 — Knight Rider, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Will Arnett has been dropped as the voice of Kitt in "Knight Rider," says IESB. Apparently the acting job - as the voice of a Ford - conflicted with a contract he signed to do voiceovers on ads for GMC trucks, and so now all the dialog has to be redone by someone else. Fortunately for fans, it’s someone good: Val Kilmer.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the sci-fi spectrum, The TV Addict has spoilers and stills from next week’s "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," including Brian Austin Green with a big freaking gun.

January 24th, 2008 — Knight Rider, Totally Frakked
On February 17th, 9pm, NBC’s sequel to the much beloved action series "Knight Rider" premieres with a two-hour movie. The new and improved KITT will be driven by Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening), the estranged son of Michael Knight.
What’s in store:
The reimagined "Knight Rider" won’t be getting the "Battlestar Galactica" treatment, Executive Producer David Bartis says they’ll be keeping the tone of comedy and action from the original series.
David Hasselhoff does make an appearance in the movie, as Michael Knight. If the movie pans out into a series, there’s high hopes that the voice of the original Kitt can be brought back as well.
Say goodbye to the Trans Am, the new Kitt is a Mustang Shelby GT, a superhot car that isn’t even on the market yet.
Kitt also has some new tricks up his tailpipe, like morphing, changing color, self-repair and nanotech weapons. He’s also a green car, part solar, […]

December 14th, 2007 — Knight Rider
Beginning in 1982, a computerized crime-fighting car and his suave and charismatic driver traveled the country making a difference in people’s lives on "Knight Rider" for four exciting seasons. Not since then has a chemistry between a man and his machine been duplicated. After the show was canceled in 1986, the series had a long syndication run and even some failed attempts at further incarnations like the made-for-TV "Knight Rider 2000" movie and the single-season flop "Team Knight Rider." So following NBC’s announcement that another attempt to breath life into the franchise would be airing Feb. 17th,our Steve Czarnecki headed over to NBC Studios to chat with the cast about this new TV special event.
Justin Bruening (Mike Tracer, pictured)Q: Can I see your shoes for a minute?A: Um sure…Q: They look pretty big are you sure you’re ready to fill them?A: (Laughs) ahhhh, yes…well it hasn’t really sunk in yet. […]
