April 25th, 2008 — High School Musical
Zac Efron is getting a little too old to convincingly play a high-schooler, so the Disney team is looking for a new cast for the fourth edition of "High School Musical." (HSM3, if you didn’t already know, is now filming.)
They’re looking for an all new (or mostly new) cast of young fresh fellows and gals, and since the casting itself should provide plenty of drama, they’re turning that into a "High School Musical" show as well.
Welcome to "High School Musical: Summer Session!" The open casting starts this Sunday: Anyone aged 16-22 can compete by just showing up at Long Beach Arena. The show will air starting this July. Oh, and guess who’s hosting? Nick Lachey.

April 21st, 2008 — zoey 101, High School Musical, Hannah Montana
Shows like "High School Musical," "Zoey 101," "The Naked Brothers Band," and "Hannah Montana" have gotten a lot of love from parents and young viewers in the past couple of years. They’re not very dirty, which is a real relief to parents, but they also don’t talk down to kids. Wholesome entertainment isn’t much good if it isn’t actually entertaining, and the latest explosion in youth media seems to do a pretty good job of satisfying everyone.
But how wholesome are they, really? And can they satisfy absolutely everyone? OneNewsNow, a media outlet sponsored by the American Family Association, investigated, and found that "High School Musical" mentioned such works of the devil as evolution and yoga, and included hand-holding, lingering glances, and even kisses between unmarried couples. And of course, it also features dancing.
Similarly, while the other shows get praise for not including sex and nudity, they still show boys […]

February 12th, 2008 — High School Musical, Oprah
We all know Oprah is capable of extreme generosity, but it was pretty clever of her to bring Zac and Vanessa into the mix for her "Building A Dream House" project. The house in question holds a family with three young kids, all of them enormous "High School Musical" fans, so Oprah got Zac and Vanessa to tape a special video message for the kids and donate their favorite props from the movies to help decorate their house.
The kids are overwhelmed with joy, and it’s so sweet I almost want to go kick a puppy just to balance things out. Or maybe I’ll just read about Paris Hilton fighting with Lindsay Lohan. Whatever.
